Ellen Gecker is the founder of Orion Wellness. Ellen is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in nursing from University of Pennsylvania. She has taken many graduate level courses in Family Counseling at Virginia Tech. In her long career in the health field, she has worked in Case Management, Wellness Coaching, mental health, school health, college health, college education, pediatrics, emergency nursing, and medical-surgical nursing. She has been a nursing administrator and manager, Clinical Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing, psychiatric/pediatric/med-surg nursing instructor, ran numerous staff wellness programs at her places of employment, and lecturer on pediatric emergencies. She has published several articles in journals on an Emergency Department time study she did and on people who do mass shootings in colleges.

Ellen attended the Academy of Professional Hypnosis in Union, New Jersey, in 2012 and is a Certified Clinical Hypnotist and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. She is certified in Pain Management through Hypnosis, certified as a Mindfulness Meditation Trainer, including its use in depression relapse prevention, and certified in Hypnotic Gastric Band. She is a Reiki practitioner and has taken many courses and trainings on Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) techniques. She is co-founder of the Circle of Excellence Hypnotists (CXH) and a former board member of the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).
Ellen and her husband have four amazing grown children, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and two fantastic grandsons. When she is not working in her Orion Wellness business, which is her true passion, she is helping her husband get his meaningful music out in the world, on the Board of the local domestic violence shelter, managing their real estate investments, traveling, and visiting their beautiful grandchildren in CT.
